The Saturday Club

(Managed by Medway Council)

Every Child Matters outcomes met:

  • being healthy

  • staying safe

  • enjoying and achieving

The Saturday Club aims to offer disabled children and their siblings positive fun experiences in a safe environment. Twelve placements are available to families each term-time Saturday, running all day from 9.30 to 3.30 pm at Parklands Resource Centre, Gillingham. A rota exists enabling parents and carers to access one session every three months – meeting their need for a longer break during a weekend. They are able to leave their children in the knowledge that they are being well cared for whilst they themselves have a break from care. A regular drop in for parents and carers to share experiences is also available.
