Every Child Matters outcomes met:

  • staying safe

  • making a positive contribution

A project providing tuition to children at primary school age on racial diversity through workbooks and exhibition and displays.  The aim is to encourage better understanding and to combat racism in schools.  Heartstone is a series of 15 story packs accompanied by cd roms containing pictures taken by professional photo-journalists (45 photos per story).  It includes an exhibition which moves from school to school.  Linked to the PHSE curriculum for years 5 and 6 and the citizenship curriculum for year 7, the project teaches themes such as cultural diversity, combating xenophobia and intolerance.
