  • GrantNet
    A user-friendly, free service which has been devised to assist organisations to identify funding sources that are available for specific projects. The database currently holds details of more than 4,000 initiatives administered by a variety of funding providers, including the European Commission, UK government departments, local government, major charitable trusts and corporate sponsors.
    Users' input and search results will also be made available to Medway Council's Funding Unit, which will be able to provide more detailed information and guidance on appropriate schemes and offer further support.

  • Kent Community Foundation - a new approach to local philanthropy
    A charity established to support good causes in Kent and Medway by providing a framework to support donors’ own specific local causes.

    Programmes include:


    Local Network Fund (part of the Children’s Fund programme - ends 31 March 2008)
    for local charities and community groups who work with disadvantaged young people up to the age of 19 in Kent and Medway.  Eligible small projects that can apply must be run by Kent based groups that include volunteers and have an annual turnover of less than £75,000. Grants range from £250 to £7,000. Even if your project would not be eligible itself, it is possible for parents or others to form a small group to apply for a grant for a specific purpose. You can apply under one of the following themes:

    Economic Disadvantage – schemes that help low income families

    Isolation and Access – isolated children in families and communities

    Aspirations and Experiences – opportunity to enjoy life through activities

    Children’s Voices – letting children express themselves

Awards for All - Micro Grants

A new lottery small grants programme, which will be run as a pilot in Medway from November 2004 to July 2005.

It aims to help support and sustain community activity, and improve the quality of life by making grants of £50 to £500 to small, local voluntary groups who work with the Black & Minority Ethnic communities in Medway.
